Platteklip Gorge

This post is part of The Art of Living series from Bacon and the Art of Living.  Chapter 99, where this is posted, is an addendum to the book.  In the “Art of Living section, I write about family and the many great experiences we had as part of “the art of living.”  Most of these experiences make it into the main body of the work.

“To me the true church where I worship is Table Mountain. Table Mountain is my cathedral where I hear a subtler music and see wider visions and am inspired by a loftier spirit. Here I breath the great air, up here in the bleak and cold mountaintops. As Browning puts it: Here, here’s their place; Where meteors shoot; Clouds form; Lightnings are loosened; Stars come and go.” (1)
